Our sustainability and safety

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

We at Helichem are fully aware of our responsibilities in regard to the environment and our society.

Striving toward profit is the first condition for healthy business management. And what follows, is careful development of new innovative and sustainable products.

Naturally, we keep a close eye on the effects that our actions have on the environment (planet) and the human aspects both within and outside our company (people).

For this reason, the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ (CRS)  standard is firmly anchored in all our operational processes. Through this, Helichem assumes full responsibility in regard to any impacts that our operations may have on both people and the environment.

For this reason, our company not only holds ISO 9001 certification, but also ISO 14001. This standard safeguards an ecologically sound environmental management system.

For this reason, safety is the top priority at all levels of our operational management. Not just for our own employees, but also for you as our customer and – last but not least – for your own customers, who after all will ultimately be using our, pardon, your product.

For this reason, we at Helichem deem sustainability and safety the key areas of focus in respect to our product innovation.

For this reason, Helichem is an active member of the Dutch Soap and Detergents Association (Nederlandse Vereniging van Zeepfabrikanten – NVZ, sections Producers, Nifim and Nedefa).

For this reason, we maintain close contacts with the international AISE association, which promotes the ‘Agenda for Sustainable Cleaning’.

For this reason Helichem, as one of the first European SME producers, has voluntarily joined the Charter for Sustainable Cleaning. This is an initiative of the EU Detergents industry, which annually releases improvements in the area of sustainability.

For this reason Helichem has invested in the purchase of around 1000 solar panels on the roof of the premises in Belfeld. Thanks to the sophisticated placement of the panels towards the southeast and southwest, the installation generates 110% of the required consumption. This makes our factory more than self-sufficient. The surplus is used to also reduce gas consumption through a heat pump.
